Who qualifies for Services?
VTC has a number of Low Vision Programs.
They are described below.
Title VII – Age 55 and Older
This program is grant funded and allows VTC and it’s partner agencies to provide services in your home or place of work. To qualify, you must be aged 55 or older and have a visual impairment that affects quality of life. To qualify for VTC Services, you must also live within the Tri-Counties area (San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, or Ventura Counties).
Department of Rehabilitation – Ages 54 to 17
VTC is a contractor for the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR). In order to receive these services, you must first apply to the DOR in the area where you live. For a list of offices, click here. In addition to Independent Living Skills Training (ILS) and Orientation and Mobility Services (O&M), VTC also provides Employment Services that include Job Development , Job Coaching, Worksite Assessment, and Worksite preparation. Again, these services are provided through the DOR. |
