An
expansion of McCoy Lane is planned and it will
go directly through the
northern portion of VTC’s property on 'A'
Street in Santa Maria. McCoy Lane currently terminates at
'A' Street, directly
across the street from the northern gate into our 5 acre complex in
Santa Maria. By extending McCoy Lane straight west of its current
location, it would cover almost the entire area formerly occupied by
VTC’s woodshop program. Further, it would require the removal of an
existing storage building and approximately 30 feet of
two other buildings
which currently house Production Department offices, Personal Career
Services offices, and the entire Quality Life Services (QLS) program.
VTC
is planning to construct a modern
16,000-square-foot building that will replace
two 1950s vintage buildings that not only stand in the path of the
future road, but are also woefully inadequate to serve the
organization's clients.
The building planners
have estimated that it will cost at least $3.9
million and will
take up to 2 years to build the new QLS building. This is indeed an
exciting, challenging time for VTC Enterprises but the master plan will
help ensure that we provide the utmost in quality services to our
ever-growing and ever-changing population.
