Clubs and Activities

The Aktion Club
Charter Club of Noontime Kiwanis
Many of the people that
VTC Enterprises serves are involved in the Aktion club. Like the Kiwanis
Club, the Aktion Club is a community-service group but its members
are all adults who live with a disability.
The club allows its members to
gain leadership skills, improve self-esteem and contribute to their
community. The Santa Maria group has been very successful.
They have offered their services to many organizations and each year
they have a quilt raffle and fashion show. The club also holds
dances throughout the year for people with developmental
disabilities. The club is as much about having fun as it is
about giving.

Offers year round
sports training programs for people with developmental disabilities.
Many of VTC's individuals are also
Special Olympic athletes. They train and compete in their
local area and then can go on to state & even national levels.
Our athletes are strongly
supported by staff at VTC as well as members of the community in which
they live. The Santa Maria Police Department Officers are actively
involved in raising funds & awareness for the Special Olympics.
The annual events include the Torch Run, Tip-A-Cop Dinners
and the 5K/10K
Bull Canyon Run.
